Support Technician

Provides support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors problems to ensure timely resolutions. Has or can quickly gain knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a technical support or Help Desk field. Has or can quickly gain knowledge of Company's products and services, including SuperSalon, I-Office. Has or can quickly gain knowledge of tools commonly used to perform the job, including Bugzilla, wikis, RealVNC, GoToMeeting, TPI, and PC Charge. May write and perform software testing of products using defined criteria. DOE, may serve as mentor for less experienced Support personnel. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Reports to a supervisor or manager. Non-exempt status employee, with Company-defined, 3-month probationary period. Quality Assurance Manager

Manages a team of Software Testers who are responsible for the development, implementation and management of tools and practices used for assessment of the software products based on appropriate criteria, real and perceived quality, conformance to standards and defect discovery, with a view to enabling developers, managers and customers to make high-quality corrective decisions by capturing and analyzing test results.
Has knowledge of commonly-used development concepts, practices, and procedures. Has or can quickly gain knowledge of customers’ concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Personal computer experience is necessary. Performs a variety of tasks.
Frequent customer interaction, usually with a project or customer manager present. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Develops, implements and oversees department training plan. Regularly demonstrates behaviors that are aligned with Company goals and contribute to Company successes.
Regularly reports status of department’s activities and participates in the weekly Management Meeting. Coaches and counsels departmental employees and writes and administers employee performance evaluations.
Works under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager.
Prior supervisory experience and team management leadership is a plus. Bachelors or equivalent - one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience as a Quality Assurance Supervisor/Manager.
