Instructions for creating and selling packages in SuperSalon

Packages allow you to offer multiple items (services or products) as one bundled offering. Using packages allows you to properly record record the sale of all the component items, and properly allocate sales dollars and discounts across the component items.

• POS: Version 5.X and higher

What are the benefits?

• Reporting: If you sell multiple services under one service item such as "Haircut, Shampoo & Color" you can only select one service category. This causes inaccurate reporting as all three services will be reported as one service under one category. When using packages each item is counted, categorized correctly, and reported correctly.
• Pricing: If you sell multiple services under one service item such as "Haircut, Shampoo & Color" the system does not know how to report dollar sales or discounts assigned to that item. It cannot allocated sales dollars or discounts among the component services. When using packages, pricing and discounts are proportionately allocated among the items. This means correct reporting on sales and discounts for each service item.
• Proportionate pricing & discounting: If you sell multiple services under one service item such as "Haircut, Shampoo & Color" the system does not know how to price each individual item, and if you add a discount, it will not know how to allocate the discount to the component items. When using packages, pricing and discounts are allocated proportionately to the original cost of each component.

• Go to Manager Tab ⇒ Packages. Enter the name of the package and the price.






• Click Add Package. The new package will show in the list below:






• Click the edit icon to add items to the packages.
• Search for the items you would like to add.
• Click the Add icon to add each item you would like to add to the package.





• Below we have added a Adult Haircut and Color into a package called haircut & Color Special.
• Sometimes the total time to do two services is less than simply adding their individual times, so SuperSalon allows you to edit the times.
• Note that the package price of 39.95 is less than the total price of the two items. SuperSalon will take care of this by (internally) proportionately reducing the price of each item.





• Press Save and the new package will be saved and ready to sell.

• On the checkout screen, press the Packages button on the left. All the packages you have created will be displayed in the middle selection list.





• Select the package to add it to the sale ticket. Note how each item is listed with correct & proportionate discount...

• Note that the reporting breaks out each item so that counts are correct.
